Robotic polishing head upgrade: installation of a force-controlled floating polishing head to enable flexible, consistent polishing

Many factories have already deployed robotic polishing heads for automated processing, but they have long been plagued by unstable polishing quality. Rigid robotic polishing heads can only feed along predetermined paths, lacking adaptive adjustment capabilities. When combined, the force control floating grinding head serves as a flexible execution unit, continuously regulating the grinding contact force and absorbing various dimensional errors of the workpiece. The robotic grinding head provides stable rotational speed and grinding power, balancing grinding cutting capability with flexible cushioning effects, while meeting the diverse requirements of removing burrs and performing fine polishing.

Unlike ordinary simple floating accessories, the Force Control Floating Grinding Head employs a closed-loop force control algorithm, with pressure values being visualized. Workers can monitor the grinding process in real-time. The design is compact, and it can be installed at the end of a robot without causing spatial interference, making it suitable for use in areas with complex geometries, narrow corners, and other difficult-to-machine regions.
